The Robert Frost of ass-kicking

"Thats poetry if I've ever heard it. He's like the Edgar Allen Poe of knock-outs, the Emily Dickinson of ground n pound, the Robert Frost of ass-kicking."

The Joe Biden of seldom seen creatures

"The thing about Bigfoot and PR is that he makes mistakes when he goes public. For instance, why would you ever fist fight the Six Million Dollar Man, who is an American icon? You can’t get the public on your side that way!

Bigfoot is the Joe Biden of seldom seen creatures."

The Damon Lindelof of nursing

"Ashley, like all nursing students (I dated one for 3 years) seems to think veiny arms = health, when there's alot of emaciated people with very veiny arms, or people on drugs with veiny arms. As a nursing student, she also appreciates the veins so she can practice running IVs and administering drugs, etc. There might be one more reason why she thinks veiny arms on a man are indicative of something but lets not go there this is a family friendly website!

But trust me, I dated a nurse so I know all there is to know about them! I am the Damon Lindelof of nursing, if nursing was time travel. Wait.. that didn't come out right. Nevermind. Did I just say all this out loud?"

The Dwight Schrute of this particular IHOP

"Our waiter appeared to be the 'Dwight Schrute' of this particular IHOP. He had an exceptional grasp of the menu, but avoided eye contact like the plague. * **"

The Roger Ebert of anonymous YouTube users

"'Puttydutty123' is evidently the Roger Ebert of anonymous YouTube users, because he/she is quoted twice in the ad, once as already mentioned, and also in huge letters across the top: 'This movie looks amazing! Cannot wait to see it!!' I hope Puttydutty123 is keeping a scrapbook of all his/her media clippings!"

The Penn and Teller of douchetards

"And maybe Jason Mewes, the Jay to his Silent Bob, would be by his side. They're like the Penn and Teller of douchetards, if I may use a word that sounds silly and doesn't even exist but might nonetheless deeply offend various individuals and groups, because that seems true to the spirit of Smith."

The Kevin Smith of textiles

"Yet another D.C. resident, 'Phoebe,' told me about a guy who picked her up at The Fox & Hounds who was really into her gray corduroy pants. I don’t know any of the details of this, including who the guy was and what he said to her, because I wrote them down on a scrap of old newspaper, then immediately lost it. Apparently, he made some remark to the effect that he loved corduroy because it reminded him of his youth in the 70’s, a time when he was first starting to notice girls and get in touch with his sexuality. It’s unclear whether this person is just an outlier, or if he’s representative of a whole generation of corduroy-loving males. In case anyone’s interested, the guy was about 35 when Phoebe encountered him 5 years ago, so this (possibly fictive) cohort would now be around 40. However, I think you could adapt the same idea to any age group — just figure out what styles were ubiquitious when your target was 12, then wear some version of that. (Although even this principle may not be correct; there seems to be something about corduroy that makes it so people who like it are just fanatical about it. It’s like the Kevin Smith of textiles.)"

The Batman and Robin of the for-profit health care industry

"For years, Baucus and Grassley have been the Batman and Robin of the for-profit health care industry. Baucus has secretly killed one bill after another in the dark musty corners of Senate Finance before emerging, startled, in the harsh dawn of internet coverage. Grassley faces a likely primary in Iowa from the right wing of the Republican Party. We should pray and hope for and even encourage such a primary because an ultra right wing Republican will not win that state."

The Alec Baldwin of chick SNL hosts

"That last one didn't completely do it for me personally because Kristen Wiig's 'outrageous retard' characters are beginning to grate, god love her, but a lot of people disagree. Anne Hathaway was the best, wasn't she? I think she has the comic chops to one day be the Alec Baldwin of chick SNL hosts."

The Tarantino of the burger community

"Now, having defined these standards, we can look outside of the two-chain forerunners. Wendy’s Baconator sandwich, though of an arguably lower quality, definitely straddles the line between art and entertainment; while it is specified in it’s audience, the topping’s chosen are time tested and relatively popular to the majority of people; making it more like the Tarantino of the burger community."
